Exciting Things Are Happening

Exciting Things Are Happening

Hi Everyone! As you can tell by the title exciting things are happening and I just wanted to share them with you. To start, I wanted to wish the happiest of birthdays to my mom, my aunt Michele, and my Grandpa. I love you all so, so much and hope today is filled with love, laughter, and family.

Where to start?

#LittleButFierce

I started a new series on my Instagram, @jill_ilana, called #LittleButFierce. Inspired by Katie Sturino, @katiesturino, and her #SuperSizeTheLook series she does on her Instagram. I take my favorite looks from the street and runway and show that fashion has no height requirement. As of this writing I have emulated Catherine Middleton, Meghan Markle, Jackie Kennedy, the fierce female Peloton instructors, Nastia Liukin, and Béyonce. I love this series as it is giving me an outlet to be creative with fashion and to take risks with what’s in my closet.

Always Looking Up - A Podcast

Yes, you read that right. I am starting a podcast, turning my secret passion project into a reality. On Always Looking Up (the podcast) I will be having conversations with friends and family about what it really means to be a dwarf in an average-sized world. I will be asking my guests how they define being a little person and we will be discussing what it is like to live in a world that was not necessarily designed for you. Like this blog, the podcast will be a space where no one is overlooked and even the smallest of voices are heard. New episodes will be released every Monday starting May 10 and can be listened to wherever you stream your podcasts. To stay up to date please follow @alwayslookingup.podcast on Insta. I am so thrilled to be sharing these incredible and insightful stories with you.

Last but not least…

I’m Moving!

Yes, after commuting for nearly a year to the city from New Brunswick, then quarantining with my mom in South Jersey during the pandemic, I am officially and finally moving to New York City. To say I am excited for this move would be quite the understatement. I cannot wait to have a space that is mine. I’ve been binge watching Million Dollar Listing: New York while furniture shopping, scouring the neighborhood on Google Maps for fun, new places to explore, and packing...a lot of packing. With all the excitement comes some trepidation. This is a big life change. This will be the first time I’ll be living on my own and I want to do it right. I first came to The Big Apple as a little girl and it was love at first sight. To finally be able to call New York City home is truly a dream come true.

That being said, if I am MIA on the blog for a little while it is because I am unpacking and trying to put furniture together. Please follow me on Instagram @jill_ilana where I will be documenting my moving journey and transition from a Jersey Girl to a City Woman.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your continued support and I am so excited to be starting and sharing these new journeys with you!
